Rob is THE founder and A MANAGING Director AT Socium People. With over 15 years of experience as a senior hiring manager in the financial services space, Rob has a strong and unique understanding of how to recruit talented people quickly and successfully.
During a broad and extensive career Rob has built and led several client facing middle office departments, operational technology teams and back office functions for large organisations, including Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and HSBC, as well as smaller outfits such as LaSalle Bank.
However he is an entrepreneur at heart. Rob understands the full recruitment process flow from both perspectives (client and recruiter) and has hired extensively at all levels within the operational and technology fields.
Rob set-up Socium People because he recognised a need for a recruiting partner who understands first hand the challenges hiring managers and HR teams face when attracting and securing top talent. A recruiting partner that puts trust, client knowledge, tenacity and exceptional service at the core of what they do.
GEMMA IS A MANAGING DIRECTOR AT SOCIUM PEOPLE AND HAS 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A SENIOR HR PROFESSIONAL IN FINANCIAL SERVICES. GEMMA STARTED HER CAREER IN TECHNICAL RECRUITMENT DURING WHICH TIME SHE HEADED-UP TECHNOLOGY RESOURCING FOR BANK OF AMERICA MERRILL LYNCH. SHE SUBSEQUENTLY MOVED INTO SENIOR HR BUSINESS PARTNER ROLES PRIMARILY SUPPORTING TECHNOLOGY DIVISIONS AT BANK OF AMERICA MERRILL LYNCH AND GOLDMAN SACHS, AS WELL AS NUMIS, WHERE SHE HELD A CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER MANAGEMENT BOARD LEVEL ROLE.
Gemma has extensive full lifecycle recruitment experience as a recruiter, hiring manager and HR professional, including managing recruiter relationships from the client side. She has a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver a great recruitment service as well a familiarity with the nuances, quirks and frustrations that can complicate the resourcing process. She has managed large recruitment programmes through significant growth periods for the firms she has supported, including investment in new business areas that required extensive market mapping and candidate research, ultimately securing many significant senior hires with extensive remits and complex compensation packages. She has also designed and developed graduate and intern recruitment programmes and conducted hundreds, if not thousands of interviews. So she knows how to ask the right questions to assess and secure the best candidates.
